Liters to Gallons

To convert liters to US gallons, multiply by 0.264172. One liter is about a quarter of a gallon, so a 50-liter fuel tank holds roughly 13.2 gallons.

Note that this tool uses the US gallon (3.785 L); the UK imperial gallon is larger (4.546 L). Gallons appear on American fuel pumps and appliance specs, while liters are the world standard. Use the reverse converter to turn gallons back into liters.
